Gender equality and gender specific names - Your thoughts on giving a female name to my male dog?

What if I call him *Brindi*? (Short for Brindle); He is a 18 months old German Sheperd.

I had a brindle bull ( male) when I was younger. We named him Mickey but I always told people he was a "brindi bull" ( usually because I was in a hurry when people asked what kind he was). I can assure you, your dog will not know the difference. :)

p.s. I love German Shepards, how big is he so far? :)

Awwhhh.... I bet he did look like a bear cub, friend of mine had two female german shepards and when they were about 5 months old, her neighbor actually thought she had bear cubs in the yard and called animal control! LOL
Reply:Why does a dog lick his balls?????

Because he can :).
Reply:German Shepards get really big, you should name him something "big" like Zeus or Apollo.....

If you want a strong female name try Evil Lynn ( You remember from He Man?) LOL LOL
Reply:Back in the 80s, I named my mother's female cat, Bosworth, after Brian Bosworth. I know it's a surname, but a lot of people thought that it sounded masculine for a female cat. I just liked the name.
Reply:I don't care what you call your dog. My fiance called my female cat "Optimus Prime" for the longest time.
Reply:My female husky cross is named Gretzky. We got her the day he retired. Who cares what other people think, he's your dog. As long as you're happy, then the dogs going to be happy.
